Varadero is a resort town in the province of Matanzas, Cuba, and one of the largest resort areas in the Caribbean.

The Municipal Museum is located in a mansion bungalow, in which Leopoldo Abreu was the engineer's summer house. This construction went by her architectonic values declared Local Monument.
The December 5, 1981 was inaugurated. It displays archaeological artefacts of aboriginal people of the region and also antique furniture, documents, maps, photographs, and objects related to the short history of the town. The beautiful architecture of this 2-storey wooden building is reason enough for a visit. It was one of the first frame houses built on the Hicacos Peninsula. The design, with its elegant wrap-around porches, is typical of beach houses from that period.

In them are, for instance, archeological remains of 2000 years of existence, personal property of the multimillionaire Irene DuPont, a female dog saves embalmed frontier, and pieces related with the Campaign of Alfabetización and the most important traditions of the locality.
In like manner, the objects of art a majestic dining-room suite and a tableware of French, English and Chinese origin stand out between are in exposition. The living room of Historia of the Sport is dedicated to Olympic and worldwide champions in various modes, next to the most important tradition of the locality, the regattas of oar.
